Center for Global Change

Global Change Student Grant Competition

This program, administered by the Center for Global Change in partnership with the Cooperative Institute for Alaska Research, UAF Vice Chancellor for Research, Alaska Climate Science Center, and the University of Alaska Anchorage, provides support to UAF and UAA undergraduate and graduate students for research on global change presented in an interdisciplinary context, with a focus on the arctic or subarctic boreal regions. The work may involve the environmental or social sciences or engineering. Initiated in 1992 at UAF, this competition is designed to give students experience with proposal writing and the peer review system as practiced by science funding agencies.

Guidelines for the most recent (2012) competition are available here. Guidelines for the 2013 competition will be posted in fall 2012.
