Angus Gavin Migratory Bird Research Grant

November 16, 2009 is the deadline to submit proposals for the 2010 Angus
Gavin Migratory Bird Research Grant. Proposal requirements can be found at
http://www.alaska.edu/foundation/grantsandawards.


2010 Global Change Student Competition

The Global Change Student Research Grant Competition guidelines for 2010
have been released. Information can be accessed and downloaded from
http://www.cgc.uaf.edu; paper copies of the announcement can be picked
up at the Center for Global Change, 306 Akasofu Building (IARC) or at
the Graduate School, 202 Eielson Building.

Both undergraduate and graduate students from UAF and UAA are invited to
apply. Undergraduate applicants are encouraged to submit pre-proposals
in order to receive feedback before submitting their final proposals.
These pre-proposals are due by 5 p.m. on Monday, February 15, 2010, and
final proposals from all applicants are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 5,
2010. Undergraduate and graduate proposals will be evaluated separately. blue line

The UAF Weekly Science Calendar accepts information on lectures,
seminars, workshops, thesis/dissertation defenses, special events and
other science-related activities on the UAF campus. It is distributed
weekly during the academic year via hard copy to campus units, and
by fax and e-mail upon request. To be added to the distribution
list please send your request (specify e-mail or fax) to the
calendar coordinator.

Submit calendar items by e-mail, fax (474-6722), or phone
(474-5818) before noon on Wednesday the week prior to your event.
Please include the name of the event, the sponsoring unit, name and
affiliation of the presenter, location, date, time, and a contact
phone number and/or e-mail address.
